“The pipeline continues to be built and information is publicly available about the ships and companies involved in the sanctioned project,” Bloomberg quoted a group of senators addressing to the president of the United States.
The letter was signed by influential Texas Senator Ted Cruz and 39 other out of 100 Senate members.
They criticized the February 19 State Department report on Nord Stream 2 and the sanctions against the project, which only named a Russian pipe-laying vessel and its owner.
“Nothing has been said about other vessels and companies involved in the construction of the pipeline that provide insurance or certification services,” the senators said.
US sanctions on Fortuna and its Russian company KVT-RUS were imposed during the presidency of Donald Trump.
