The following people intend to run for election: Lithuanian Union of Peasants and Greens, National Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats, Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, Social Democratic Labor Party of Lithuania, Liberal Movement, Polish Electoral Action-Union of Christian Families.

Also – Center Party “Welfare Lithuania”, Labor Party, “Courage Road” Party, “Generation Solidarity Union-Cohesion Party for Lithuania”, Union of Fighters for Lithuania, Christian Union, Freedom Party, Union of Lithuanian Nationalists and Republicans , Lithuanian People’s Party, Lithuanian Green Party, National Union, Lithuanian Youth Party, Lithuanian List Party and Russian Alliance Party

The Lithuanian Freedom Union (Liberals) also registered in the elections, although soon their names should not appear on the lists. It should be replaced by the name of the new entity, the Freedom and Justice Party.

In the past, the “Order and Justice” party could be found among political campaign participants on the CEC website, but it turns out that the organization in liquidation was unable to apply.

“We are aware that former colleagues, strange as they are, members of the Seimas, tried to register as independent participants in the political campaign in the Central Electoral Commission,” said Almantas Petkus, former executive secretary of the “Order,” as quoted in The report. As a result, according to him, it is planned to apply to the prosecutor’s office.

Parties and individual candidates can submit application documents and elevate the candidate list in a multi-member constituency only after registering as participants in a political campaign.

“Political parties that nominate candidates for the Central Election Commission send the application documents, and self-nominated candidates send the application documents to the electoral commissions.” 15 minutes commented CCA President Laura Matjošaitytė.

Self-nominated candidates will still have to collect signatures to participate in the Seimas elections.

“Candidates who nominate themselves in elections must submit signature collection sheets when submitting application documents and must collect at least a thousand voter signatures supporting their candidacy by August 27. The electoral district electoral commission then it verifies and determines if the candidate complies with the requirements of the law or not. If it meets, the CCA registers that person as a candidate and continues participating in the electoral campaign, “explained L. Matjošaitytė.
