The State Labor Inspectorate drew up an administrative misconduct protocol for a Vilnius company for employing illegal people and imposed a fine of 17,360 euros.
The Inspection does not reveal which company or which illegal workers from Ukraine worked on the construction site, as its decision to sanction the company can still be appealed.
Apparently 20 Ukrainians were employed in Polish companies and sent to Lithuania to carry out various construction works.
This scheme of fictitious movement of foreigners to the Vilnius construction sites was clarified by the Vilnius Joint Operations Center (VJOC).
The operation was started earlier this year and in successful cooperation with the State Labor Inspectorate, the State Tax Inspectorate, the Financial Crimes Investigation Service and the Polish authorities.
A pre-trial investigation into data falsification and fraud has been launched.
