Like a typhoon that had very strong power, ‘Mysak’ tore through the seas east of Jeju Island, leaving a record of heavy rain.
A water pump of more than 1,000 mm was poured into the southern wall of Hallasan Mountain and a storm of 49.2 m per second was recorded on the mountain.
It is the second time that heavy rains of more than 1,000mm per day have been recorded after Typhoon ‘Chaba’, which flooded the Taehwa River in Ulsan in 2016.
In addition, a large amount of rain concentrated around 500mm in Yeongdong and more than 200mm off the Gyeongnam coast, such as Busan, causing flooding and tsunami damage.
The center of the typhoon passed inland and did not lose its great power even after landing, leaving more damage than Typhoon No. 8 ‘Bobby’.

The typhoon is expected to land off the coast of Gyeongnam during the day on Monday and penetrate the Korean peninsula from north to south.
