[아시아경제 권서영 인턴기자] Amid ongoing hate crimes against Asians, a young man who assaulted a Korean couple in Washington state in the United States last November was arrested in four months and it’s shocking.

A major foreign press reported on the 3rd (local time) that it arrested a 15-year-old boy for assaulting an Asian couple and was charged with second-degree assault. The male victim was injured with a bruise on his face and a broken rib. He said that several teenagers at the time pushed and beat him.

This incident took place on November 19 last year in Tacoma, Washington, USA, and was reported to the police at the time of the incident. However, as a video of the incident scene was recently uploaded to the social networking service (SNS), the suspect was arrested only after four months.

Police received a report of the incident, but did not know if the video was the same as the one reported. Tacoma police said they learned the two incidents were the same only after a family member of the victim discovered their relative in a video reported on the news.

In the video posted on social media, a man in a red top suddenly meets a couple walking down the street. While the victim partner was repeatedly beaten several times, the female victim asked the people around him for help. Another video also shows the man insulting a male victim.

Meanwhile, the couple insisted they had never seen the perpetrators. Police said they would decide whether to prosecute the hate crime case at the Pier County prosecutor’s office.
