24 units per day → 70 units loaded, open from March 1 after free trial charge
[투데이에너지 조대인 기자] When facility improvement work to double the charging capacity of the Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station was completed, it reopened on March 1 and went into full-scale operation.
Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station was the first hydrogen charging station in Seoul, installed for research in 2010 and operational until 2019.
In order to expand the supply of hydrogen vehicles, one of the policies of the Green New Deal of the Seoul edition, the Seoul Metropolitan Government carried out works to improve the facilities to convert them into commercial hydrogen charging facilities from December of last year until February 17 of this year.
Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station, which has completed the facility upgrade work, has a hydrogen storage capacity of more than 2.5 times a day, from 120kg to 350kg, and the number of vehicles that can be charged daily has also been approximately threefold from 24 to 70.
The inconvenience of citizens using hydrogen vehicles, who have suffered from the shortage of charging infrastructure in Seoul, is expected to be resolved in some way.
Taking into account the normal hydrogen charging cycle, which uses 8 days on a single charge, the reopening of the Yangjae hydrogen charging station increases the number of vehicles that can supply hydrogen vehicles by about 560, explained the city of Seoul
The Seoul Metropolitan Government emphasized that it has carried out a facility improvement project at the Yangjae hydrogen charging station with safety as the top priority.
He explained that he did his best to ensure the safety of the facilities by receiving preliminary safety consultancy during the construction process, including technical review, mid-term inspection, and completion inspection from Korea Gas Safety Corporation, which is an organization specialized in gas safety.
In the future operation process, safety is a top priority through safety inspections, self-inspections and external inspections at least twice a year.
Yangjae Hydrogen Refueling Station is open all year from March 1, except Chuseok and New Year’s Day.
It can be used 14 hours a day (08: 00-22: 00).
The charging fee is 8,800 won / kg, the same as the private hydrogen charging stations in Seoul, and a 100% reservation is required to minimize waiting time and avoid traffic congestion.
Reservations can be made through the ‘H2care’ smartphone app.
Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station provides a charging service of 5 units per hour and up to 70 units per day.
The ‘Sangam Hydrogen Station’, a public hydrogen charging station located in Mapo-gu, which opened in October last year and operates free of charge, will also be charged the same charge as the Yangjae hydrogen charging station from March 1.
From March to February of next year, for a period of one year, a 30% discount is granted on the recharge fee for hydrogen vehicles registered in the autonomous district where the hydrogen recharge stations are installed.
This is 44,000 won per charge of about 5kg per hydrogen car, and the driving distance is about 481km. For Yangjae hydrogen charging station, vehicles registered in Seocho-gu and Sangam hydrogen charging station are registered in Mapo-gu.
Before the official opening, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has a three-day trial operation period from 26-28 and verifies the operation of the service. During this period, only 10 hours (from 12:00 to 22:00) and the recharge amount is free.
However, even during the test load period, it works with reservation and provides a loading service for up to 50 vehicles per day, and reservations are possible from 12:00 on the 25th.
Seoul Mayor Seo Jeong-hyup visited Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station on the 25th, before the reopening, and checked the readiness for the opening.
When boarding a hydrogen car and checking the charging demonstration, check the safety of major facilities such as chargers, hydrogen compressors, storage containers and hydrogen tube trailers (hydrogen storage and transportation equipment), and follow the Seoul Energy Corporation safety management plan. the operator I heard an explanation.
In the meeting with experts in the field of Green New Deal and hydrogen, we also discussed the safety of hydrogen charging stations, the direction of the hydrogen economy and the current status of the Green New Deal.
There are three hydrogen charging stations in Seoul, Sangam, Gangdong Sangil and the National Assembly, and when Yangjae hydrogen charging stations open, 4 hydrogen charging stations will be operated.
Seo Jeong-hyup, Acting Mayor of Seoul, said: “With the inauguration of the Yangjae hydrogen charging station equipped with the latest facilities and more than double the charging capacity, the inconvenience of citizens using hydrogen vehicles , which has been suffering from the lack of charging infrastructure, will be alleviated. “We will ease citizens’ anxiety about hydrogen charging stations by operating them with a focus, and we will continue to expand the hydrogen charging infrastructure to expand the supply of hydrogen vehicles, leading to hydrogen-based economic growth and a new green deal, and actively respond to the climate crisis. “
