A memorial service is held here every year on the last Monday in May, Remembrance Day, and Veterans Day on November 11.

Four black granite columns with a height of 4.9 m are surrounded by four open walls, creating an atmosphere like a cemetery.
According to ‘Friends of the Pence Landing Korean War Monument’, a non-profit organization that manages the monument, the design is intended to evoke feelings of religious worship for the warriors who fought for world peace and prosperity in the United States. .

The names of the soldiers who died each year were engraved on the four middle pillars, and four Korean maps were drawn on the surrounding walls, including photos and important events during the war, a list of veterans, and the situation at each stage of the war.
In 2007, an additional statue of artist Lauren Jacobs’ ‘Last Farewell’ was added to the monument site.
The monument and surrounding sites are owned by the City of Philadelphia and have been leased to ‘Friends of the Fence Landing Korean War Monument’.
The organization explained on its website that “The Korean War Memorial in Philadelphia has passed, but it is a place to remind people of a time that will never be forgotten and to honor those who have served our country.”
There are over 100 Korean War memorials in the United States, and the Philadelphia Monument on the Delaware River is near Biden’s residence, Wilmington, Delaware. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Wilmington to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania, the largest party for this presidential election. Biden’s hometown, Scranton, is also in Pennsylvania.
