Vice President Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Electronics is expected to appear today in the trial for the destruction of the ‘Gukjeong Nongdan’ case.

Accordingly, Vice President Lee, former Vice President of the Office of Future Strategy, Ji-Sung Choi, former Vice President of the Office of Future Strategy (President) Jang Choong-ki and former President of the Court are expected to appear in court. Samsung Electronics Park Sang-jin.
On the preparatory date for the trial on the 26th of last month, there was a request for assistance from the judge, but he did not attend after presenting a letter explaining that the funeral of his father, President Lee Kun-hee, was held for the second day.
On that day, the court decided to update the trial procedure in accordance with the court change, order the grounds for appeal by both parties and respond to the court’s clarifications.
Vice President Lee was put on trial on charges of providing bribes worth 29.825 million won in exchange for former President Park Geun-hye and Choi Seo-won (formerly named Choi Soon-sil) to assist with the succession of the management rights of Samsung.
The first trial sentenced Vice President Lee to five years in prison, but the second trial sentenced him to two years and six months in prison and four years of probation. On appeal, the Supreme Court alliances also admitted some bribery charges and returned them to the Seoul High Court.
The repatriation trial for the destruction of the Gukjeong Nongdan was suspended for more than half a year due to an evasion request from the team of special prosecutors Park Young-soo after four trials on January 17 this year. Then, in September, the challenge request was finally dismissed by the Supreme Court and resumed in earnest until the trial preparation date on October 26.
Only 297 days after the fourth trial date in January, Vice President Lee appears as a defendant for the repatriation of Gukjeong Nonongdan. Although Gukjeong Nongdan’s trial was suspended, Vice President Lee was re-investigated by the prosecution and was finally put on trial in September after being tried without custody in connection with the succession of management rights.
Inside and outside the corporate world, the Gukjeong Nonongdan ruling is expected to end early next year as soon as possible. Even on the trial preparation date held in October, the court announced that the sixth trial date will be held on the 30th.
