The Vaccines and Biologicals Advisory Committee (VRBPAC), an advisory body to the FDA, recommended approval for the urgent use of the Pfizer vaccine the day before. Vaccination can be started after CDC accepts the recommendation for use from the Advisory Committee on Preliminary Immunization (AICP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to foreign reports, the FDA has set the vaccination age at 16 years or older. The first shipment was delivered 2.9 million times. Long-term care facilities, medical workers and the elderly are expected to be the main targets for vaccination.

The Pfizer vaccine was approved by the UK government for the first time in the world on Day 2. The UK began its first vaccination at 70 designated hospitals across the country on Day 8. The number of sites that have approved the use of The COVID-19 vaccine has increased to six countries, including the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, followed by the United States.

VRBPAC will also deliberate on the agenda for the urgent use of modder or vaccines, and is expected to continue deliberations on the Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines.
