Former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae and Channel A reporter Baek Mo have a second trial on the attempted coercion charges on the 16th. In response to the lawyer’s claim, Deputy Judge Park Jin-hwan, who is the sole judge of the Seoul Central District Court, expressed a somewhat negative opinion. However, the lawyers for the two former and current reporters say that if Ji tried to mislead the two reporters from the beginning with “false reports”, the former reporters and Paik reporters are “victims” rather than “accused.” The prosecution decided to reveal opinions about Mr. Ji’s investigation in the future.

At the upcoming trial, Lee Chul, who claimed to have been threatened by reporters Lee and Reporter Paek, and Mr. Lee’s attorney, Mr. Ji, who represented Mr. Lee, will appear as witnesses. The prosecution also demanded the adoption of witnesses by reporter Bae Mo and reporter Hong Mo, former chief reporters. However, the judge said: “In the case of the boss, (the position) is on the record” and said he would not.

On the other hand, Deputy Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong, who was promoted to the Gwangju District Prosecutor’s Office at the prosecutor’s office last August, attended the court in person. Assistant District Attorney Chung was the chief prosecutor in the reporter’s earlier case. Deputy Prosecutor Chung plans to travel to Seoul for the next trial scheduled for October 6 and conduct a witness newspaper.
