Unemployment benefits are insurance benefits received when an unemployed person who is enrolled in employment insurance loses his job. The amount of unemployment benefit payments hit a record for the third consecutive month after February (78.19 trillion won) and March (89.82 trillion won) this year. Last month, there were 13,775,000 job insurance subscribers, an increase of 163,000 (1.2%) from the same month last year. It fell 100,000 people in a month after falling 200,000 people in March. The number of subscribers in the service industry increased by 192,000 (2.1%) during the same period to 9382,000.
