Professor Chung Kyung-Shim of Tong Yang University, who is on trial for irregularities in the entrance examination, testified that “Professor Jeong, close to the president, felt superior.”

Professor Kang Mo, former head of admissions of Dongyang University, who testified in the court of the Criminal Division 25-2 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Lim Jeong-yeop) said this. It is a witness requested by a lawyer.

Prof. Jeong replied that when the lawyer asked, “Did you ever go to the terminal to pick up Jo (Prof. Jeong’s son) when you were the Dean of Admissions?” When asked why, he said, “Professor Jeong was close to the president at the time, so I felt like my boss,” and said, “(Professor Jeong) was a successor professor, but he had no choice but to accept the request”.

Professor Kang said, “Professor Jeong had the same authority as the President.” When the lawyer asked, “Is there anyone who became a teacher on the recommendation of Professor Jeong?”, He said, “I found out later, but heard that I recommended Professor Jin Jung-kwon.” He said: “It seems to be the point where the president said he never gave a subpoena (to Professor Jung’s daughter).”

At the trial that day, the battle continued on suspicion that Professor Jeong forged his daughter’s certificate of praise from Dongyang University. Professor Kang, who was a witness, gave a press interview in September last year when the suspicion of falsification of Professor Jeong’s quote was first raised. “At that time, it was the daughter of former Minister Cho who came to Yeongju from the universities in the metropolitan area, and other professors agreed to give the summons. He came and served for a considerable period of time. The service citation was treated as a full decision and the president was not aware of the issuance procedure. “He testified that he had seen Mr. Jo several times at that time and said,” Then I remember, “when the lawyer asked him:” Is it the summer of 2012 when I saw Mr. Jo at Dongyang University? “

However, the prosecution refuted Professor Kang’s testimony, citing the fact that the program was launched at Tong Yang University in 2012, which was listed in the subpoena, but was canceled due to poor attendance. Professor Kang also said that he was right to see Mr. Cho at Tong Yang University, but that he did not witness any volunteer activities. Deputy Judge Im, the presiding judge, asked: “Do you know that (Mr. Jo) did volunteer work after entering the defendant (Professor Jeong)? Did he not see the witness? E) I heard him and I know.” He said, “My daughter did volunteer work at Dongyang University” from Professor Jeong, but did not witness it.

Deputy Judge Lim asked Professor Chung’s lawyers for clarification, saying: “I’m not sure what meaning the president has allowed (the issuance of subpoenas).” Professor Chung denies allegations of falsification of the quote and claims that it has been “approved by the president”, but the following argument is not clear. Deputy Judge Lim noted, “There is nothing else to do with whether Professor Jeong directly sealed the seal with the permission of the president, or whether it was ordered by a teaching assistant.”

Deputy Judge Lim also ordered “to clarify which part of Choi’s statement was charged (disproving the credibility of the evidence).” At the last trial, Choi’s nephew, Lee Mo, appeared as a witness for the lawyer, but tried to reveal whether he participated in the Dongyang University children’s camp program in July 2012, not in the Center for Education program. Dongyang University Language Education, which was an indictment. Deputy Judge Lim said: “It shouldn’t be a vague impeachment.”
