The government subsidy payment process for special type workers (special notices), freelancers and small entrepreneurs who suffered damage from the reproliferation of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) will resume after the Chuseok holidays.
According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of SMEs and Enterprises and the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 4th, the government will resume the procedure to provide various support funds after the Chuseok holidays.
These projects were classified as post-Chuseok vacation payment targets early on because it took time to select the recipients of the grant payment, or projects that were recently added during National Assembly approval for additional budget budgets and were not initiated pre-Chuseok procedure. It is subject to payment before the Christmas season, but includes cases in which the recipient does not apply.
First, the second procedure for the payment of the emergency grant for job security begins immediately after the Chuseok vacation. This grant is for new targets that have not applied for the first grant. 1.5 million won are paid to those whose income in August, when Corona 19 began to proliferate, decreased by more than 25% from the monthly average last year or from June to July this year. The number of subjects is estimated to be 200,000.
The application period is 12-23, and the annual income (less than 50 million won) and the rate of income decline are comprehensively evaluated, and 200,000 people are selected for support. The support fund will be paid in November.
The process of paying youth support funds is also beginning. The payment process of 500,000 won for special job search support for young people (18-34 year old unemployed looking for work) who are having difficulty finding employment is also scheduled to start this month. The target for this month is 140,000 people who participated in this year’s job search program, and they plan to receive applications from 12-24 and pay support funds by the end of November.
Part of the desired new fund for small business owners directly impacted by businesses due to the reinforcement of social distancing will also be paid after Chuseok. Small business owners in specially damaged businesses, such as 320,000 people with an operating limit and 150,000 people with a ban on meeting, are eligible to receive payments, and support funds of 1 to 2 million won will begin during this month.
The corporate taxi driver support fund will also be announced earlier this month. Most private taxi drivers were paid in the form of new funds desired for small entrepreneurs before Chuseok, and one million won is paid separately by selecting those whose income has declined among corporate taxi drivers.
The payment process of 150,000 won of support for the care of 1.32 million high school students is expected to be completed by the 8th. This project was added in the process of joining the National Assembly. The government plans to provide solidarity support to high school students this week after identifying the number of targets for each school and going through parent information and account verification procedures.
Additionally, for 160,000 out-of-school children, grants will be provided during the month through the Office of Education application process.
Payment of the child allowance to 2.38 million preschool children and 2.64 million primary school students was completed before Chuseok, and the emergency livelihood support procedure for the households whose livelihood was difficult due to declining income due to unemployment, leave from work and business closings, etc., proceed relatively late. The support targets are those who have not been able to receive support through other support programs, even though their income has decreased due to Corona 19. Applications are received online and offline in October, eligibility investigated and paid maintenance between November and December.
It turned out that there were 599,000 people who were eligible for the grants before Chuseok, but did not receive the grants due to the omission of procedures. Before Chuseok, the government provided 3.3 billion won of support to 7.42 million people.
