Police “Should be checked … wait 3 ~ 4 weeks”
The Gochang Police Department said on the 22nd: “As a result of an autopsy of Mr. A (78), who died after being vaccinated against influenza, we could not find any clues linking vaccination to death.” The autopsy doctor told a Gochang Police Station detective who visited the scene: “Nothing special was found with the naked eye. The exact cause of death can only be determined by careful examination.”
Health officials believe that Mr. A’s death has nothing to do with anaphylactic shock. Anaphylactic shock is one of the side effects of influenza vaccination due to a severe systemic allergic reaction. Anaphylaxis can visually confirm tissue degeneration, such as tissue distortion, but it was found that no such appearance was found during the autopsy of Mr. A.
Choi Hyun-sook, director of the Gochang-gun Health Center, said: “Anaphylaxis is usually in shock within 4 hours. Mr. A (after vaccination) has spoken with his family for up to 8 hours.” . An official from the Gochang Police Department said: “Because it was a lawsuit case, an autopsy was performed to reveal the exact cause of the incident.”
Mr. A was found dead at home after getting a flu shot at a clinic in Gochang-gun around 9 am on the 19th, and after becoming ill at around 7 am the next day. The vaccine Mr. A received was the Boryeong Flu VIII tetravaccine (A14720016) manufactured by Boryeong Biopharma Co., Ltd., and it was not a vaccine that could be exposed to room temperature or white particles were detected, according to health authorities.
Mr. A generally suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes, but it was investigated that there were no significant health problems. The Gochang-gun Health Center surveyed 99 people who received the same type of vaccine in the clinic visited by Mr. A and found no adverse reactions.
