[그린포스트코리아 곽은영 기자] CU announced on the 10th that it will introduce the ‘CU Drive Through Service’, which allows you to receive pre-ordered products from a mobile app in a car, in stores in Seoul and the metropolitan area.

With the’OWIN ‘mobility trading platform in September, CU has been preparing a drive-through service that may be the first in the industry to resolve product order to receipt in a comprehensive way.

CU Drive-Thru Service is a convenience store that buys in the form of designating a specific store through the OWIN app, selecting the desired product, placing an order and paying for it, and then when the worker visits the store by car, the worker delivers the purchased product with a stopped vehicle.

After payment, the addresses are automatically provided from the application to the store and, at the same time, the estimated time of arrival of the customer is transmitted to the store’s POS, reflecting the traffic conditions in real time, so that the worker prepares the product ordered according to the corresponding time. When the store arrives, the store worker can be notified of the arrival using the “Call Clerk” function. Compared to in-store use, face-to-face contact can be minimized and shopping time can be significantly reduced.

CU’s drive-through service is available from 7 am to 10 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am on weekends. The minimum order amount is KRW 5,000 and there is no additional usage fee.

The stores to which this service is applied were selected mainly in places where parking and stopping spaces were secured for workers to deliver goods safely without disturbing road traffic in the city.

CU plans to expand its operation to some 3,000 stores nationwide by the first half of next year by introducing services in 500 stores in Seoul and the metropolitan area.

Seong-Hae Seong-hae, Head of E-Commerce Team at BGF Retail, said, “Because we can provide direct access services without additional investment in facilities, we are constantly asking about the introduction of the service in roadside stores. where drivers visit frequently. ” We will try to improve customer satisfaction and franchise sales by introducing a purchasing platform. ”
