“I hope it is used in more difficult places”

According to the AFP news agency, on the 26th (local time), on the morning of Christmas Eve 24, in a town in Edmonton in western Canada, some 400 residents found an envelope placed in front of each house.

The envelope, written as sent by ‘Secret Santa’, contained a Wal-Mart gift card worth $ 250 Canadian (about 215,000 won). Santa also attached a letter that said, “I hope this little gift gives you hope when you open Santa’s secret envelope.”

In his letter, he emphasized the hope that next year will be a better new year.

“I woke up in the morning and found an envelope with a large gift card on the stairs,” said villager Lee-Anne McNaughton. “I cried all morning.”

Elisha Tennant, who lost her job due to Corona 19, told CBC Canada, “He felt warm and touched,” and said, “For us, this money is a month’s worth of food.”

CBC managed to contact the secret Santa at the email address on the envelope, but Santa politely replied that he did not want to reveal his identity.

Instead, he humbly told CBC that “a lot of people have had a really difficult year (because of the crown)” and “I decided to do this because I have the means to help them.”

He added: “I want people to feel that the world is still a good place and a bright future is not far away,” he added.

Santa’s heartwarming gift gave birth to another good deed. Christina Ignacio, who received a ‘surprise gift’, noted the phrase in the letter, “Please hand over the witness.”

The CBC reported that Ignacio’s families were willing to donate the gift cards they received from Santa to a non-profit foundation that helps the poor.
