US President Donald Trump announces the successor to US Judge Ruth Vader Ginsburg, who passed away last week.

Remarks are being made that President Trump will appoint a judge to the Seventh Federal Court of Appeals, Amy Connie Barrett, ahead of the official announcement at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Several US outlets such as ‘CNN’ and ‘The New York Times’ reported on the 25th that President Trump is expected to nominate Judge Barrett as his successor, citing anonymous officials.

However, there is a possibility that a final variable will arise before the final announcement. The VOA has not been able to confirm the report.

President Trump said he would nominate a woman to replace Judge Ginsburg, who died a week ago. Later, Judge Barrett and the 11th Circuit Court of Barbara Lagoa were among the leading candidates.

Judge Barrett, a 48-year-old white woman, was also subject to a final review when she was nominated for the position of Supreme Court Justice Brett Caberno in 2018.

Judge Barrett, a Catholic, has opposed abortions for women and has received strong support from conservatives for his ruling in line with the Trump administration’s tough immigration policy.

Meanwhile, there is controversy over President Trump’s appointment of a successor justice to the Supreme Court, with less than 40 days until the November 3 US presidential election.

The Republican-majority Senate said it would immediately vote for a successor to President Trump’s nomination.

However, the opposition Democratic Party maintains that the next president-elect should nominate a successor and that he should postpone the process of selecting a successor after the presidential elections.

Before Justice Ginsburg’s death, the Supreme Court had been a five conservative progressive. When a conservative person appointed by President Trump takes office as the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court disposition is 6 to 3, and conservative tendencies become more inclined.

Judge Ginsburg’s successor will rule on issues that could have a profound impact on American society, including women’s abortion rights, the health insurance system, gun ownership, and religious freedom and immigration issues.
