Changwon District Law Jinju Branch Criminal Division 1 (President Park Moo-young) sentenced Kang to life in prison on the 17th for murder and attempted murder.
Kang is accused of not murdering his wife (51) and the son of a high school student (14) with a weapon prepared in advance at a house in Sangpyeong-dong, Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do around 6 am on 12th March, and of attempting to murder a high school student daughter (16).
Kang admitted to most of the prosecution’s prosecution throughout the trial, but denied the planned crime and said that after an argument with his wife, he accidentally killed him.

Kang also left a voicemail message for his mother-in-law, saying, “I will kill your daughter and grandchildren, and I will die too” before murdering his wife and son. At that time, Kang’s mother-in-law, who heard this voicemail, told her daughter to be careful. With this in mind, the prosecution ordered the death penalty for Kang’s deliberate crime.
The only surviving daughter of Mr. Kang’s crime came to the last trial and agreed to the court’s question with a nod: “Do you want to be the strongest punishment in the world?”
That day, my daughter did not attend the sentence.
Judge Park ruled: “In addition to the time of the crime, the order of the crime and the location of the stabbing with a weapon, we cannot accept the defendant’s claim that it is an accidental crime” and “severe punishment seems inevitable.”
He said: “The crime was deliberate and cruel, as the daughter who fell asleep and unprotected was horribly murdered, her esophagus was damaged and her voice was not properly heard. The victim is asking for severe punishment, and the defendant continues to insist on accidental crimes and shows no real regret. The sentence was decided considering the impact of our society in this case ”.
