North Korean leader Kim Jong-un appeared at the flood recovery site. He was going back and forth between the construction site and the rice field wearing only short sleeves and underwear.
On the 12th, North Korea’s Chosunjungang TV reported a video of President Kim’s inspection of the flood recovery site in Daecheong-ri, Eunpa-gun, North Hwanghae province. At the beginning of the video, President Kim was wearing a white shirt, but from the middle he appeared in short sleeves. President Kim smokes a cigarette with his arm on the wall or laughs with the central executives of the accompanying group.
In the video, President Kim visited the flooded rice field and held the grain in his hand. Hwanghae-do is the largest rice producer in North Korea. In this video, he went up and down hills and stairs alone without difficulty.
The video featured President Kim, Chief of Staff Park Jeong-cheon, Vice President Ri Il-hwan, First Vice President of the Organizational Leadership Division, Yong-won Cho, Senior Vice President of the Party Central Committee Kim Yong- su, Vice Chairman of the Song-Wol Hyun Party Propaganda Department and Chairman of the North Hwanghae Province Committee, Park Chang-ho. They were not wearing masks.
This day’s video was 12 minutes long and aired relatively longer than General Kim’s local tour. The Chosun Central News report also reached a total of 3,800 characters. In a situation where economic difficulties are exacerbated by the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) and flood damage, it appears that the intention is to promote President Kim’s visit to the flood recovery site.
President Kim also showed up with a dirt-filled sport utility vehicle (SUV) just after the flood in Daecheong-ri last month. North Korean media have emphasized the actions of President Kim, who ventured into the field at risk, saying the vehicle had slipped from the rice field.
