To improve Wangsuk traffic in Namyangju, a project to expand the urban railway line 9 connecting Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju in Seoul will be promoted.

In the Changneung district of Goyang, the construction of the urban railway between Goyang and Eunpyeong in Seoul and the construction of the GTX-A Changneung station will be promoted.

If that project is realized, Namyangju Wangsuk will be able to travel to Seoul Station in 25 minutes and Goyang Changneung to Seoul Station in 10 minutes, which will greatly improve transportation.

On the 29th, the Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transportation announced a final plan to improve metropolitan transportation.

◇ Promote the extension of the Namyangju Wangsuk urban railway line 9, opening goal in 2028

First, 18 projects were confirmed, including the Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju urban railways, etc. Namyangju Wangsuk metropolitan area transportation improvement measures, and a total of 2.3 trillion won will be invested. The Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport plans to promote the project with the goal of opening in 2028.

Gyeongchun Line Station (stops at GTX-B) and Gyeongui Jungang Line Station were recently established for the convenience of rail use, and a shuttle train is operated between Sangbong and Maseok. It plans to share the cost of the Byeolnae Line extension project connecting the Byeolnae Line and the Jinjeom Line.

The project to improve public transportation in Gangbyeonbuk-ro was also reflected in order to provide quick access between Namyangju and Seoul using public transportation such as metropolitan buses.

By building a BTX (Bus Transit eXpress) using a mobile barrier-type central separator, the travel time from Wangsuk district to Gangbyeon station is expected to be reduced by about 30 minutes.

In order to diversify the traffic demand of the road network along the Han River, it was decided to build the Han River Bridge (Suseok Bridge) connecting Seondong IC and Pungmul Village.

Along with this, the Olympic Highway (Gangil IC ~ Seondong IC, Amsa IC ~ Gangdong IC) will be expanded and a bypass road for Gangil IC will be built. Increase the width of the roads on the North Main Highway (Jungnang IC ~ Guri IC), Gyeongchunbuk-ro (Toegyewon City Area) and Guguk-do Line 46 (Wangsuk 2 ~ Geumgok-dong).

Provincial Highway 383 and Jingwan Bridge (Wangsuk ~ Toegyewon) will be widened, and the roads between Wangsuk 2 ~ Yangjeong Station and Wangsuk 2 ~ Dasan will provide convenient access between the surrounding districts.

When measures are implemented to improve regional traffic, the main travel times are expected to be reduced from 45 minutes to 25 minutes to Seoul Station and from 70 minutes to 45 minutes to Gangnam Station.

An exclusive bus lane will also be installed in the business district to connect Jungang-ro and Tongil-ro Express Bus (BRT). It also reflected a project to improve the bus transportation system in a wide area to reduce travel time in central Seoul during peak hours.

In particular, the Hwajeon station transfer facility is installed to allow transfer between various means of transport, such as the arterial green bus and the bus-rail-PM (personal transfer means), and a transfer service is provided convenient by linking with Jungang-ro BRT (Daehwa-Sinchon) stop. do.

To improve accessibility to downtown Seoul, a new connecting highway will be built between Ilsan and Seooreung-ro and Seooreung-ro will be expanded. It also included a plan to create a connecting road between Jungang-ro and the 2nd Free Road to diversify the traffic demand to Seoul.

If the metropolitan traffic improvement measures are implemented, the travel time of 40 minutes to Seoul Station and 50 minutes to Yeouido is expected to be reduced to 10 minutes to Seoul Station and 25 minutes to Yeouido.

The Ministry of Lands, Infrastructure and Transportation said: “After confirming measures to improve transportation in a wide area, we will conduct a preliminary feasibility study for major projects, then finalize the business plan and proceed with the licensing procedure.”
