Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung beat Democratic Party representative Lee Nak-yeon in the following poll of support for the presidential candidate. As interest in this branch increased, it was analyzed that the approval rating was naturally gaining momentum.
According to Google Trends on the 18th, search volume for this branch continued to dominate until this month after reversing Lee’s search volume in May.
In April, when the 21 general elections were held, the search frequency index for the search term ‘Nak-Yeon Lee’ in Google was 22, while the index of ‘Jaimyeong Lee’ was only 9. It is analyzed that Lee’s ‘big party’ influence with former Korean Liberal Party representative Hwang Gyo-an in Jongno, Seoul was great.

However, as of May, the branch’s search frequency index was 35, leading to Lee (27). In the propagation phase of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), it coincides with the moment when the governor invoked administrative powers such as banning meetings of entertainment facilities.
Last June-July was a time when Governor Lee received an invalid election sentence on an appeal for violation of the Public Officials Elections Act and related media attention. In the case of June, the search frequency index for Governor Lee and CEO Lee was 51 and 31, respectively. In July, Governor Lee (8) outperformed President Lee (3) even as the overall index fell.

Google’s search frequency index also differed in August, when Governor Lee ousted CEO Lee in a public opinion poll. This branch was 30 years old and Lee 23. Since then, the gap has widened. Last month, Governor Lee and CEO Lee’s search frequency index registered 45 and 27, respectively. Governor Lee drew attention by insisting on the payment of national disaster support funds before the second round of this period.
This trend was similar in Kakao. In Kakao, Lee and Lee’s search volume index from April to May were ’14 to 6 ‘and ’22 to 21’, respectively.

However, in June, Gov. Lee posted 51, reversing Rep. Lee (32). Since then, in July (9th Governor Lee, 2nd Rep. Lee), August (25:18) and September (47:27), Governor Lee took the initiative.
By gender, this branch had many searches in men and Lee in women. Men searched more for this branch in a ratio of 71 to 66. On the other hand, women searched more for Lee in a ratio of 34 to 20.
This seems similar to the results of public opinion polls. According to a poll conducted on the 16th in Gallup Korea, Governor Lee’s male approval rating was 26%, ahead of CEO Lee (17%). On the other hand, Governor Lee’s female approval rate was 14%, lower than Lee’s (18%).
