[아시아경제 영남취재본부 박동욱 기자] The H5 type avian influenza (AI) antigen detected in a laying hen farm at Hope Farm in Cheonbuk-myeon, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do was confirmed to be highly pathogenic.

According to North Gyeongsang Province, on the 26th, the AI Central Accident Control Center conducted a careful examination of samples collected from farms that reported suspected highly pathogenic AI, and it was confirmed as H5N8 type high pathogenic AI .

Consequently, Gyeongju City has produced more than 8,000 laying hens on the farm, as well as 208,000 chickens raised on 15 farms (16.1.120) and one farm (47,000) within a radius of 3 km. I plan to kill them all with work.

The farm where the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus was detected is 3.5 km from the point where the highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8) antigen was detected from wild birds in the Hyeongsan River on day 2. This farm reported to quarantine authorities on the 25th when about 60 animals died suddenly.

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, “Since highly pathogenic AI is a common contagious disease, there are many concerns when it occurs, but it leaks into the distribution process after strict inspection, so you can eat chicken and eggs with confidence. ”
