Iksan Public Health Center … Babies and children within 4 weeks from October 16 to January 15
(Sung Ji-Sung September 21, 2017)
The Iksan City Public Health Center will provide free temporary immunization for the Transdermal Tuberculosis (BCG) vaccine in 2017 at the Commissioned Medical Institution from October 16 to January 15 of next year for infants and toddlers who need the vaccine within 4 weeks of age.
In the past, the total amount of BCG vaccine had been imported and used in Japan and Denmark; however, due to shortage of production and lack of supply due to quality control of local factories and conversion from privatization, there was a shortage of domestic imports. Free temporary immunization will be administered temporarily.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention manages individual vaccines in advance to ensure timely immunization within 4 weeks after the recommended vaccination period by sending notification letters to babies born after mid-2015. September and those who have not been immunized. I will guide you enough.
Babies and guardians can contact the Iksan-si Health Center prior to vaccination or check the vaccination institution through the Immunization Assistance Center website (https://cdc.go.kr), and visit after making a reservation.
Currently, the vaccination contract is ongoing.
Additionally, if an adverse reaction occurs after transdermal BCG vaccination during the temporary immunization period, compensation for national immunization may be requested, and a rapid response system will operate by strengthening monitoring of suspected cases.
Kim Jae-gwang, director of the public health center, said: “Because we were dependent on imports, we were unable to secure enough BCG intravenous vaccine due to overseas factories and manufacturers. We will do our best to receive the temporary vaccination free against the BCG transdermal vaccine without problems. ”
Inquiries related to vaccination can be directed to the Iksan City Public Health Center (063-859-4834).
