Representatives of the majors meet on the 7th and discuss when to return to treatment
“We have no choice but to follow the agreement of the medical association, but we will protect medical students in the specialty”
Doctors (interns and residents) who specialize against the agreement between the Korean Medical Association (medical association) and the government and ruling party are expected to decide whether to return to treatment on the 7th.
According to the medical community on the 5th, it is known that Park Ji-hyun, chairman of the Emergency Response Committee of the Korean Medical Association (Daejeon Association), announced that the meeting will be held at 1pm on the 7th at representatives from each major hospital. In this notice, President Park said, “We have no choice but to follow the agreement agreed to by the Korean Medical Association. It is reported that they are the official legal representatives of all phases. “Apart from the voluntary resignation or removal of the president of the National Medical Association, I will confirm how to protect doctors and medical students during the weekend.” Over the weekend, after gathering the opinions of the doctors, the meeting is expected to discuss the timing of the return to treatment and future countermeasures.
Previously, the official position of the Daejeon Council was that “the collective action cannot be stopped because the president of the largest association of the Medical Association has arbitrarily agreed with the government and the ruling party.” On the afternoon of the 4th, the Daejeon Association published a statement on its website on the afternoon of the 4th, saying: “We formally raised the procedural issue in the arbitrary negotiation process of the president of the Max-jip Medical Association.” Not even one person can stop group action in a situation where a medical or specialist student is suffering harm. ”According to the Daejeon Council, the interim agreement between the Medical Association and the government held negotiations overnight until 4 am day 4, and many of the requirements for the Daejeon Consultation were omitted, so they raised an issue and requested that they be reflected again. However, the Daejeon Association explained that it had heard that the Medical Association and the Ministry of Health and Bienestar had concluded negotiations through media reports. The Daejeon Association demanded that “measures be immediately prepared to protect medical students and medical students.”
The government has withdrawn all administrative measures taken against the medical community. It was decided to withdraw all the complaints against six majors who did not comply with the order to start businesses and all those who reported consultations with the Fair Trade Commission as violations of the Fair Trade Law. Furthermore, it was decided to postpone the re-application deadline until midnight (24 hours) on the 6th so that medical students who cancel the practical exam for the National Doctoral Exam can take the exam.
Some of the executives from the Daejeon Association also suggested the possibility of going back to work. In an article on Facebook on the 4th, Seo Yeon-ju, Daejeon Hyup’s vice president, said, “Even if you pause for a while and go back to your place, I ask that you continue to give your interest and voice.” ”She showed the possibility of returning.
On the 3rd, the Daejeon Association announced on its website that “we will open all possibilities for the reorganization of essential personnel and we will review it”, and that it is possible to return to work directly related to the patient’s life, such as emergency room, unit intensive care and delivery room. As the spread of the new coronavirus (Corona 19) infection is severe and the medical gap is huge due to the 16th day of the strike, it is expected that the entire university will not continue to postpone a return to treatment.
According to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the drop-out rate for careers belonging to 152 of the 200 training hospitals nationwide was 85.4% and the drop-out rate for full-time physicians (fellows) was 29.7%.
