The Cultural Heritage Administration, together with Gyeongbuk-do and Gyeongju, conducted an additional detailed excavation at the tomb in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju, which had been under excavation since May 2018. It was revealed on the 3rd which was confirmed.

This grave was confirmed on May 27 in the main body of the store (the place where the body is), where the Geumdong and Geumdong Dalgae (Yongnak) shoes were partially identified.

The victim wore a gilt bronze tube on his head, and wore thick ring earrings (convertible graft) on both sides and gilt bronze shoes. This is the first time that the case of a victim wearing shoes has been confirmed in a stone grave in the Gyeongju area.
Furthermore, it is the first time since the Hwangnam Grand Chong Chong from 1973 to 1975 that coffins, earrings, chest hangers, belts, bracelets, rings and shoes have been unearthed, and this is the first time that all of the accessories of the victim while wearing them. On the head of the victim that was exposed for the first time in May, a gilt copper tube was finally confirmed. The gilt copper tube has a crown frame at the bottom of the crown (a band made of rounded rings so that the crown can be worn on the head), and on top are three three-tier tree branch shaped ornaments (standing resin type) and an ornament in the form of a deer antler (support in the form of green). It is a way of adding two pieces.

Upside down heart-shaped decorative holes are arranged on the casket, and inverted heart-shaped holes are drilled on the end of the branch ornament. In the frame of the Geumdonggwan crown, a gold hair dryer made of gopeun-ok (gok-ok) and a gold bead (ritual gold formula) are hung on both sides.

There is an openwork plate with a ‘TT, ㅗ’ shaped pattern between the guan frame and the ereum decoration, and some traces of the openwork plate on top of the ereum decoration were also confirmed. Further investigation is expected to reveal whether this cutwork was used to decorate a crown cap or a gold crown.

Beneath the gilt bronze tube, a pair of chunky ring earrings made of gold and a chest hook made of four rows of indigo beads were identified.

Below that, a silver waistband, a silver bracelet, and a silver ring consisting of four points on both ends of the waistband were also identified. On the surface of the right arm bracelet, more than 500 yellow beads approximately 1mm in size were excavated, and it is estimated that a beaded bracelet made of small beads was used with a silver bracelet.

The silver ring was dug 5 points for the right hand and 1 point for the left hand. Since the left hand part was not fully exposed, there is a possibility that more silver rings could be excavated from the left hand part if further investigation is done. There is also the possibility.

Unlike the front plate, which was perforated with alternating ‘TT, ㅗ’ patterns, the back plate was finished with a square-shaped square plate with no etched patterns.

Considering that the length from the center of the gilded copper tube to the heel of the gilded copper shoe is 176 cm, it is estimated that the height of the covered person was about 170 cm. The Shilla Crown business advocacy team of the Cultural Heritage Administration plans to see if there is anything that can be further revealed, including the sex of the victim, through scientific analysis.

Also, there were many new materials that were difficult to see in the past, such as the fact that the drier connection of the silver waistband has a triangular shape, and the ring handles are attached to the left and right of the pot of iron (cheoljeong) dug into bureaucracy.
