A man in his 80s who self-quarantined after entering the country from the UK was confirmed to have a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19). Along with the man, three other relatives from England were also confirmed. The quarantine authorities are analyzing whether they are infected with a mutant virus that has a strong transmission power.
At 80, he died during self-isolation.
According to Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 27th, a man in his 80s died of cardiac arrest at the Ilsan Hospital of the National Health Insurance Corporation around 11:27 am on the 26th. Mr. A He returned from England on the 13th and was isolated. He was transferred to this hospital around 10:45 am that day due to cardiac arrest, but died within 40 minutes. It was confirmed as Corona 19 in post-test results.
A Goyang City official said, “Mr. A was asymptomatic at the time of entry,” and said, “As it was confirmed that Mr. A was normally treated for heart disease, it seems that we should check whether Corona 19 has affected him. ”
All three members of Mr. A’s family were also confirmed.
When Mr. A’s autopsy was confirmed, the quarantine authorities performed a sample collection test on three members of Mr. A’s family. These three families were also confirmed on the same day. All of Mr. A’s family came from England. Another family, Mr B, returned home from the UK on the 8th last month and ended self-isolation after receiving negative tests on both tests.
Later, on the 13th, A and two other family members returned to Korea. Mr. A and others were quarantined at a home in Goyang City after being negatively judged upon entering. Mr. B, who returned to Korea earlier, also lived in a house. Quarantine authorities are understanding that Mr. B has completed self-isolation and engaged in outside activities, and is identifying traffic lines and contacts.
The Defense Countermeasures Headquarters is testing samples from Mr A to confirm whether they are infected with the mutant virus, as these family members have recently entered the country from the UK, where the corona 19 variant virus has spread. The results will come out from this week.
