Group Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS) reached the top of Billboard’s America’s top singles chart ‘Hot 100’ for two consecutive weeks.
Billboard announced on the 8th (hereafter local time) that BTS ” Dynamite ‘took first place on’ Hot 100 ‘this week after last week.
‘Hot 100’ is a chart that aggregates the ranking of the most popular songs in the United States each week, including broadcast performance, sales volume, and number of radio broadcasts. Bulletproof Boy Scouts reached the top for the first time in the history of Korean singers on the Hot 100 list last week, the first week of their release with the digital single ‘Dynamite’, released on the 21st of last month, and achieved a great record for two weeks in a row.
Throughout Billboard history, there are only 43 songs, including ‘Dynamite’, for the song that went straight to No. 1 on the ‘Hot 100’. Of these, only 20 songs have been on top for two weeks in a row, and this year, Cardiby took the top for two weeks before passing first place to BTS.
According to Billboard, BTS ” Dynamite ‘recorded 17.5 million streams and 182,000 downloads in the US from August 28 to this month. Billboard praised BTS’s record, saying, “It has been 4 years since Chain Smokers ‘Closer’ in 2016 recorded more than 180,000 downloads.”
Notably, ‘Dynamite’ ranked 20th last week on the ‘Pop Songs Radio Airplay Chart’, which is calculated by the number of radio broadcasts, and rose to 18th, this week’s highest ranking. Expectations for No. 1 for the third week in a row are already rising, as it has been on the rise since its launch on radio charts, which have a high barrier to entry for non-English speaking singers.

The bulletproof Boy Scouts set an all-time record with ‘dynamite’. They entered the ‘Hot 100’ chart on the last Billboard chart (September 5) in the United States and reached the top spot for the first time as a Korean singer. BTS is the only Korean singer to have won the ‘Billboard 200’ and ‘Hot 100’ charts, which are the top album charts.
The music video for ‘Dynamite’ also set a world record. YouTube views of the music video ‘Dynamite’ exceeded 300 million around 4:50 pm on the 5th. Recorded 100 million views in 24 hours and 200 million views in 12 hours in 4 days, followed by 4 hours in 15 days.
They will appear on NBC Today’s ‘City Music Series’ on the 10th and on NBC’s ‘America Got Talent’ on the 17th in Korea, and will show the ‘Dynamite’ stage.
