55% of British citizens are concerned about the side effects of vaccines
“It should be noted that the government has a high national distrust”
According to an opinion poll conducted by The Guardian of Opinium from a market research institute, when Corona 19 vaccine is distributed, 35% of respondents said: “I will not respond even if there is an opportunity to get vaccinated.”
In particular, 48% of those surveyed answered that “the vaccine is not safe” and 47% believed that the vaccine would not work at all. The majority of 55% were found to have concerns about the Corona 19 vaccine side effects. Opinium said that “there is still great mistrust in the efficacy and safety of the vaccine,” stressed that health authorities need to pay attention.
If the government strongly recommends it, vaccination would be possible, but 20% of those surveyed said they are very likely not to respond. On the other hand, 68% of respondents responded that they are willing to consider vaccination if the government strongly recommends and safety is confirmed, a slight increase from the same survey (67%) two weeks ago.
Previously, the United Kingdom approved the urgent use of the corona19 vaccine developed by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the German pharmaceutical company Bioentech for the first time in the world, and vaccination will begin on the 8th of this month. According to government guidelines, the elderly and employees living in nursing homes are eligible for vaccination, followed by vaccinations for the elderly 80 years of age and older and healthcare and medical workers.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II of England (94) and her husband Philip Gong (99) will also be vaccinated against Corona 19 in a few weeks, according to a senior official, including the Daily Mail in the UK.
