As the new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) quickly spread across the country beyond the metropolitan area, confirmed cases continued on the 19th.
According to quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 870 new confirmed cases were confirmed nationwide from 0 o’clock to 9 o’clock that day.
The number increased by 214 in 3 hours from the 656 identified at 6pm that day.
Even compared to the same time figure the day before (856), there are 14 more.
Notably, the statistics do not include the 185 group infection cases at the East Seoul Detention Center, where former President Lee Myung-bak is still incarcerated, so the actual number of confirmed cases has already exceeded 1,000.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said that the group infection case at the Dongbu Detention Center has not yet been entered into the patient statistics system and that an epidemiological investigation is being prepared.
With time until midnight when the count closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at 0 o’clock on the 20th is expected to break the record since the Corona 19 incident in Korea. The previous record was 1.78 on the 16th.
Quarantine authorities predicted that the number of new confirmed cases could be between 950 and 1,200, but increased the possibility from 1,100 to 1,200 confirmed cases.
Looking at 870 people in the center of each city at 9 pm that day, 608 people (69.9%) in the metropolitan area and 262 people (30.1%) in the non-metropolitan area.

As the ‘third pandemic’ of Corona 19 progresses, the size of confirmed cases gradually increases.

In connection with a small church in Yongin, Gyeonggi province, a total of 13 people were infected and an epidemiological investigation is underway. In the case of the Jerusalem church in Yeoju city, 14 members were diagnosed and treated.
At True Love Nursing Home in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, a group of 61 people were infected to this day, and 36 cases were added to St. Mary Hospital in Goesan-gun and Somang Hospital in Eumseong-gun, increasing the number of confirmed cases to 58.
