AstraZeneca, a British pharmaceutical company that is jointly developing a COVID-19 vaccine with the University of Oxford, will also reveal the results of phase 3 clinical trials in a few days, Bloomberg News reported on the 17th (local time).

Analysts at financial information provider Jeffreys interviewed Mark Donner, AstraZeneca’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and AstraZeneca is known to announce interim results of phase III clinical trials in days or weeks.

AstraZeneca was initially scheduled to announce the results of the phase 3 clinical trial later this year.

AstraZeneca is currently in phase 3 clinical trials targeting 30,000 people around the world. “Currently, phase 3 clinical trials are progressing smoothly around the world and results can be expected,” said Chief Financial Officer Donoye.

This position from CFO Donoe suggests that AstraZeneca will release clinical results faster than originally expected.

AstraZeneca had initially decided to announce clinical results later this year. Pascal Sorio AstraZeneca, CEO of AstraZeneca, said in the performance announcement on day 5: “If the clinical results demonstrate the efficacy of the vaccine, we hope to present the results of the Corona 19 clinical trial to regulatory authorities by the end of this year “.

“It is up to the supervisory authorities to decide the approval and the speed with which it is decided,” said CEO Sorio.

AstraZeneca’s decision to announce its interim clinical results sooner or later is interpreted because competitors such as Pfizer and Modena have recently published interim clinical trial results one after another.
