In particular, the risk of accidents is noted to be high because fishing boats have many hours to depart before dawn.
It is aimed at the dawn tide, when many fish are caught, and is described by fishermen as “fish bites at dawn”.
It is pitch dark, but there are frequent accidents when running to get the so-called “point” before other fishing boats.
This time, the accident, Blue Sea 3, also departed at 4:50 am before dawn.
Based on the fact that the captain was not drunk and there was not much fog at sea, the coast guard considered the possibility that the captain could not see the dock while driving a boat quickly in the dark.
Despite the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), marine leisure such as fishing is quite thriving.
According to the Boryeong Coast Guard, the number of fishermen who visited Boryeong on the high seas from September to October this year increased by 7% from last year.
In early and mid-September, the number of Joukumi fishermen flocked, increasing by 37% from last year.

A maritime affairs official said: “It seems that a lot of people who complain about the Corona 19 frustration go out to enjoy the activities of the sea.” .
The official added: “Today is ‘Sari’ where there are not many fish, so it is a time when there are not many fishermen as usual,” he added. “But this year, a lot of people are going to enjoy fishing in Sari.”
