Among the top universities in Seoul, Yonsei University has the most expensive tuition this year.

According to the ‘2020 College Enrollment Ranking’ data presented by the Ministry of Education to the Chairman of the National Assembly Education Committee Yoo Yoo-Hong of the Democratic Party, Yonsei University has the highest average college enrollment in the dissemination of university information among major universities in Seoul

Yonsei University’s average tuition per year was 89.3 million won, approaching 9 million won.

Yonsei University has the second highest enrollment among 193 four-year colleges across the country.

An official from Yonsei University explained: “Since medical schools with high enrollment rates and Kukje universities are included, it appears that the average level of enrollment has risen.”

◇ Even in the remote Yantai Corona class, tuition is not returned to students.

With the expansion of remote classes this year due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), many universities returned some tuition fees to students, but Yonsei University did not return tuition fees for the first semester.

The government decided to pay off-site tuition support fees and induce tuition refunds to each university, but Yonsei University exceeded 100 billion won in reserves and was excluded from project support.

After Yonsei University, Ewha Women’s University tuition was 8692,000 won, the second most expensive among the top universities in Seoul.

Hanyang University (8,473,000 won), Sungkyunkwan University (8,386,000 won), and Hongik University (8,343,000 won) ranked third to fifth.

Among these, Ewha Womans University decided to pay 5% of the tuition paid to undergraduate students in the first semester as a special scholarship for Corona 19.

Hanyang University also awarded a special scholarship of 150,000 won per person to undergraduate students in the first semester.

Hongik University returned 4% of the tuition during the first semester to undergraduate students.

Sungkyunkwan University selected 200 students suffering from Corona 19 and paid 2 million won per person, so most of the students did not receive tuition reimbursement.

◇ Among four-year universities across the country, Korea Polytechnic University is the most expensive of the KRW 8.99 million.

Among the 193 four-year colleges in total, the Korea Polytechnic University’s annual tuition was 8,996,000 won, which was the most expensive.

Korea Polytechnic University, located in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, mainly has many engineering departments.

An official from the Korea Polytechnic University explained: “Because there are few departments in humanities and social sciences, and it is the largest engineering school in Korea, the enrollment is high due to training expenses, etc.”

He added, “With the expansion of Corona 19’s distance classes, if students who took the first semester class enrolled in the second semester, 8% of the tuition was refunded and 100,000 won evenly returned to students who they received the full scholarship. ”

After Korea Polytechnic University, Yonsei University ranked second, followed by Shinhan University (8,695,000 won), a private university located in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi province (8,695,000 won), Ewha Women’s University in fourth place. and the Fall Institute of Technology (867,000 won) in fifth place.
