[엑스포츠뉴스 김정현 인턴기자] The Korean Football Association decided to play match A against Mexico as scheduled according to FIFA.
The Korean Soccer Association announced on the 14th that it decided to continue match A between Korea and Mexico as a result of a meeting with officials from the Mexican Soccer Association and the Austrian Soccer Association.
The Mexican Soccer Association and the Austrian Soccer Association expected to play the match according to FIFA rules and the case of match A in October and November, and the KFA also accepted the demands of the two associations in consideration of the conditions.
According to FIFA rules, if there are 13 or more players (including a goalkeeper) who can participate (negative corona 19 gene amplification test), the game can be played. Currently, four of the 25 national team players, including Kwon Chang-hoon, Lee Dong-jun, Jo Hyun-woo, and Hwang In-beom, have tested positive. There are 19 people who can participate in the game.
Ahead of the match between Japan and Panama, which took place in Graz, Austria on the 13th, just before the evaluation with Mexico, two confirmed corona19 cases of the Panamanian squad came out, but the match was played except for the two players.
A similar situation occurred in October, but match A was not canceled. At that time, Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) tested positive for Corona 19 before match A, but match A was held normally, except for Ronaldo.
In the Mexico game that begins on the 14th at 9 p.m. local time (5 a.m., 15 KST), only players and staff who tested negative for the COVID-19 gene amplification test conducted on the 14th will participate.
Players and staff who currently test positive will be quarantined locally for 10 days. After that, the quarantine is canceled only after a corona 19 diagnostic test is rerun and a negative test is obtained.
On the other hand, the national team team and the coaching staff carried out a second inspection at 5 pm on the 12th (local time below all below) two days before the match in accordance with FIFA regulations, and Kwon Chang-hoon, Dong-joon Lee, Cho Hyun-woo, Hwang In-beom, and a staff member tested positive.
At 8 am on the 14th, all members who tested negative in the second round were tested again. The 19 people who tested negative as a result of the test will compete today. The positive respondents, Moon-Hwan Kim and Sang-Ho Na, are excluded from the list and undergo a reconfirmation process for body odor samples.
