The leader of the Democratic Party, Lee Nak-yeon, who visited Goesan, North Chungcheong Province, officially moved the National Assembly to Sejong City.

In fact, it plans to move the administrative capital to Sejong City and turn Seoul into a center of economy and culture.

After rekindling discussions on the relocation of the administrative capital through a speech to the National Assembly in July, the Democratic Party immediately formed an administrative capital advocacy team to materialize related plans.

The most essential thing to transform the city of Sejong into an administrative capital is before the National Assembly.

There is already a plan to establish House Sejong and move some of the standing committees, but the Democratic Party is in a position that is not sufficient.

Ultimately, all functions of the National Assembly must be transferred to Sejong City, but the Constitutional Court’s decision of unconstitutionality in 2004 is a stumbling block.

First, to avoid controversies about unconstitutionality, the plan to leave only the main office and the office of the president of the National Assembly in Seoul is being strongly considered.

The Democratic Party plans to publish a plan that includes these details within this month and seriously discuss it with the opposition party.
