He has worked in the Constitutional Court since 2010 and currently serves as a Senior Constitutional Investigation Officer and International Review Officer.

Attorney Lee was from the Seoul and Jeonju National University Law School, and completed the Yonsei University Law School. He began his career as a prosecutor in the northern branch of the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office in 1990 and spent a total of 24 years working in the prosecutor’s office. He served as president of the Special Investigation Committee of the 5 · 18 Democratization Movement of the Ministry of National Defense and currently serves as Vice President of the Corruption Prevention Committee of the National Human Rights Commission.

A lawyer attended Sung Dong High School, Seoul National University Law School, and Seoul National University Law School. After taking his first steps into public service as the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office in 1989, he went through the Daejeon District Prosecutor’s Office, the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office, and the Great Swordsman’s Criminal Division. Since opening as a lawyer in 2014, he has served as a professor at Sejong University School of Law and president of the Korean Association for Criminal Procedure Law, and currently works as a lawyer at Barun Law Firm.

Korea President Byeonhyup is one of the seven members of the candidate nomination committee, and Lee is the only one who has revealed the nominated candidates so far. President Lee explained: “I decided to announce the nominees because I thought it was necessary to check public opinion on the three candidates they decided to recommend and guarantee the right of the people to know.”

The nominating committee plans to finish the job of receiving the first nomination of up to five candidates for each committee before 6 p.m. on the same day, and then holding a meeting on the 13th to deliberate on the candidates recommended by each committee. If the two finalists who are approved by six or more members of the nominating committee are compressed, the president nominates one of them and the first chief of the airlift is appointed through a staff hearing.
