One of the first executive orders to be signed after taking office is the return to the Paris Convention on Climate Change, which the Trump administration withdrew. Biden declared on Twitter on the 4th, the day after the election, “in exactly 77 days, the Biden administration will rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement.” The ’77 days later, ‘he said, is January 20.

President Trump declared withdrawal from the agreement in June 2017 and entered the withdrawal process on November 4 of last year. Biden tweeted on the 4th when the United States officially withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement. The United States is the only signatory state to the Convention to withdraw. The Paris Convention on Climate Change was adopted by 195 States Parties at the plenary session of the 21st General Assembly of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change held in Paris on December 12, 2015 and entered into force Next year.
