The lease renewal application system and cheonsei limit system allow tenants to live two more years after two years of residence and limit the rent increase to within 5% of the existing rent. The revised Housing Lease Protection Act bill, which is currently pending in the National Assembly, includes content that requires only a certain percentage of the rent from the old contract to be increased for new contracts.
