The government has reorganized the social distancing system, which is currently in three stages, into five stages.

In preparation for the long-term war on coronavirus, the government explained that the quarantine system was subdivided to suit real life and changed the quarantine system to reduce the damage to the livelihood of ordinary people.

The social distancing system, which previously consisted of 1st, 2nd and 3rd steps, will be changed to five steps.

Stage 1 was divided into vital quarantine, stages 1.5 and 2 were divided into regional epidemic stages, and stages 2.5 and 3 were divided into national epidemic stages.

In the current system, there were steps 1.5 and 2.5, but the difference in the intensity of the step-by-step measurements was so great that an intermediate step was established as a temporary measure, and concerns have been raised that if steps 2 and 3 are strictly enforced, it will increase the socioeconomic damage.

Previously, when the number of confirmed patients per day occurred in the 40 metropolitan area and non-metropolitan areas, the requirements were changed from 1 to 2, but the reorganized criteria were changed to 100 in the metropolitan area and 30 in the non-metropolitan area .

The upgrade from stage 1.5 to stage 2 is carried out when the number of confirmed cases exceeds double that of stage 1.5 or when the number of confirmed cases exceeds 300 nationally, that is, when the outbreak is considered local is spreading rapidly.

Furthermore, stages 2.5 and 3 are national epidemic stages and are carried out when the number of patients increases rapidly to 400-500 and 800-1000 respectively.

The government plans to control Corona 19 at a level that our medical system can handle, such as securing beds for seriously ill patients, saying a prolonged Corona 19 is inevitable until the vaccine is released.
