In August, the Sarangjeil church, which was the trigger for the pandemic in the metropolitan area, resumed worship at the site as of today, 80 days after its closure.

The church said it would follow quarantine regulations, but traders around it also reacted with anxiety about whether the infection would reoccur.

The service started again at 11 in the morning.

The alleys that had been blocked by vehicles also reopened.

In front of the church, from today (1) morning until now, the church members are also visiting one after another.

Before entering the chapel, you can measure your body temperature, disinfect your hands, and verify your name before entering.

Inside the chapel, church members could be seen sitting at intervals and singing hymns wearing masks.

Sarangjeil Church has resumed field service as of today.

81 days passed after Seongbuk-gu’s Seoul office closed the church on August 13.

On the 29th of last month, two days ago, the Seongbuk-gu Office lifted the order to ban church gatherings.

The district office explained that it took into account the ease of one-step social distancing.

The church also decided to fill only 30% of all chapels according to the step 1 guidelines of distancing from the government.

To this end, church members received a request for assistance via text message in advance and participants were selected through a lottery.

Consequently, only 400 people participate in the second worship service held this morning.

The church also said that only members from the metropolitan area would be able to attend this time and requested that children with weak immunity or older people with underlying illnesses receive worship online for a time.

There is no policy to rent buses across the country or to worship in the parks around the church.

When the church resumed worship, the reaction to the surroundings would have changed.

So is.

When the church members gathered again, the surrounding merchants responded that they had no choice but to be anxious.

This is because the group infection that began last August, mainly in the Sarangjeil church, spread throughout the country.

At that time, there were more than 1,700 confirmed cases of infection in the Gwanghwamun church and assembly, and Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon was also confirmed.

After the massive infection, suspicions arose that the church was interfering with the government quarantine, and the church was seized and searched by police in August.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government also claimed it was responsible for redistribution, such as interfering with epidemiological investigations and submitting false data, and claimed damages of 4.6 billion won from the former pastor and the Sarangjeil Church.

However, the church has even filed a lawsuit against the government and the media, claiming that the government is responsible for the spread of Corona 19.

Pastor Jeon was brought to trial on charges of violating the Public Officials Elections Act and is currently being held in a detention center.

Apart from this, he was also accused of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act and was recently investigated by the police in a detention center.
