The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Encourages Voters to Vote by Voluntary Nomination

Representative Lee Nak-yeon on Twitter on the 31st encourages party members to participate in the vote on the nomination of the by-elections. Twitter Capture

“Okay, big favor, completely okay”

“I pushed for approval. The mayor of Seoul should never give up.”

Furthermore, while the Democratic Party began voting for the nomination of candidates for the Seoul-Busan mayoral by-election in April next year, the Democratic Party members who participated in the vote are posting ‘certification shots’ in the Social Network Service (SNS) one after another. Most of the opinions were, “I agree with the nomination,” as the party leadership said, “It is the party’s responsibility to be judged by the citizens through the nomination.”

Before the approval shots of party members, the Democratic Party leadership and lawmakers encouraged them to participate in the vote through SNS. Rep. Lee Nak-yeon said on Twitter, “Participate in the online vote through the homepage and app,” and Rep. Park Beom-gye said on Twitter, “Please participate. We are the Democrats! ” On Facebook, former legislator Lee Seok-hyun defended the Democratic Party by saying: “The Democratic Party is going to give a candidate in Busan, Seoul, and Ho-young Joo accuses him of innocent.

Members of the Democratic Party responded by leaving a certificate of ‘voting participation’ on SNS. There were several party members who shared the voting completion screen or the screen that pressed the approval button on the mobile app and said “I agree.” There was also a response that said, “Thank you for delegating authority to party members.” Former Busan mayor Oh Geo-don resigned in April after a suspicion of forcibly harassing a subordinate was revealed.

Like the reaction of party members on social media, it is highly likely that the results of the votes of all party members will be compiled in favor of the nomination. The Democratic Party decided by a vote of former party members whether to participate in the Proportional Alliance led by the Democratic Party in March, before the 21 general elections. Despite considerable criticism about the creation of the proportional party at the time, members of the Democratic Party overwhelmingly agreed (74.1%).
