The number of people reported to have died after influenza (flu) vaccination increased to 59. Of these, 46 deaths were found to have a very low causal relationship with influenza vaccination.
According to the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 26th, the number of deaths after influenza vaccination at 0 o’clock on the 26th was an increase of 11 from 24 (48) two days ago . Of these, three died after being reported as serious abnormal cases. A total of 14.68 million people had been vaccinated against the flu as of day 26.
A more detailed analysis of the cause of death was also found. The Agency for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccination Harms Research team found that 46 of 59 people had a low association with vaccination. As a result of an additional review of 20 deaths on day 25, all of them had underlying conditions such as cardiovascular disease or aortic dissection. Previously, the harm research team determined the association with the vaccine to be low by investigating 26 early deaths before the 23rd. The remaining 13 people are being investigated. Among the deaths, 14 and 36 cases of vaccine products with the same manufacturing (batch) number were also inoculated. The Agency for Disease Control and Prevention said causality for stopping vaccination was not confirmed.
However, the anxiety about the flu shot does not go away. At 1 pm on the 26th, only two patients were waiting for treatment at a clinic in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
