The statute of prosecution for violations of the Law on Elections of Public Officials in the last 4 · 15 general elections ends today (15).

Before the expiration of the statute of limitations, a group of incumbent legislators were prosecuted for violating the electoral law.

If you are sentenced to a fine of 1 million won or more and your sentence is finalized, you will lose your legislature position.

Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Jeong-soon, who suspected of accounting fraud during the April 15 general election, was finally handed over to trial without a face-to-face investigation.

The prosecution cannot be postponed any longer because the prosecution statute for an electoral violation case is six months.

In addition to Chung, there are several incumbent legislators who have been brought to trial for violations of the electoral law before the statute of limitations expires.

Representatives Yang Jeong-suk and Kim Hong-geol, who were expelled from the Democratic Party during the general election race due to a report on property downsizing, were tried respectively, and Democratic Party representative Jin Seong- joon was indicted for illegal pre-election campaign.

Representative Lee Sang-jik, who left the Democratic Party due to the Eastar Jet incident, was also brought to court on charges of providing traditional liquor to more than 370 voters.

Representative Ja-geun Koo, the power of the people, was tried without custody for promising to give him the post of assistant if he helped in the elections.

Representative Choi Chun-sik of the same party was brought to trial on charges of enacting bogus races, and Representative Bae Jun-young was indicted on charges of illegal pre-election campaigns.

Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun, who is accused of falsely accusing former United Party legislator Ahn Sang-soo, in association with Rep. Soo-jin Cho or Hamba broker Yoo Sang-bong, who are suspected of reporting on property downsizing , has not yet been processed.

There are about 20 legislators who are prosecuted or investigated for violations of the electoral law.
