[전국]Police launch large-scale investigation into the cause of the fire in Ulsan residential and commercial complex

When the fire was put out in the residential-commercial apartment complex in Ulsan, investigations began in earnest to determine the cause of the fire.

The police, who created a dedicated investigation team, will install security facilities at the scene of the fire and investigate the cause by joint identification.

To find out the cause of the fire, the police assembled a dedicated team of 40 investigators.

CCTV footage was stored around the site and widespread investigations were launched, including investigation of witnesses and reporters.

The police previously carried out the first identification process, such as verifying the place of the fire with the National Institute of Scientific Research and looking for traces of the fire.

However, it has been shown that there is a high risk of safety accidents, such as falling structures from the ceiling and walls.

For this reason, after installing security facilities such as nets and fences, we decided to proceed with additional identification.

The first report to the fire department was that smoke was emitted from the outdoor air conditioning unit on the 12th floor deck.

However, other statements are also being made, such as saying, ‘The flames shot up on the third floor first.’

As such, it will take some time to determine where the fire started and what caused it.

In addition, the police are also investigating whether there was a problem with the exterior wall finish, based on the fact that the fire spread rapidly along the exterior wall of the building.

Earlier, around 11:10 p.m. Thursday night, a fire in a 33-story residential-commercial complex in Dal-dong, Ulsan, went out after 15 hours.

Approximately 90 people, including residents, were taken to the hospital, but most of them were discharged from the hospital, except for 5 people.
