The investigation into the cause of a large fire in a multi-purpose apartment in Ulsan is serious.
The investigation team of the Ulsan Provincial Police Agency held a meeting on the 10th to secure data from the fire videos and investigate witnesses and reporters.
The dedicated team is analyzing and securing some closed circuit (CC) televisions inside and outside the Samhwan Art Nouveau building, which has been on fire.
Additional video data installed in other buildings around it is also being protected.
The dedicated team is also investigating the situation at the time of the fire among reporters and witnesses.
However, he said it is not a situation to determine exactly where the fire occurred.
A dedicated team official said: “We are investigating from various angles” and “We are expanding the investigation to find the cause of the fire.”
The second joint identification is expected to take some time due to security concerns.
In the first joint inspection carried out the day before, the possibility of objects falling from the ceiling of a burning apartment was judged that the safety of the inspectors could be threatened when conducting an inspection such as digging a fire source.
The police decided to reinforce and install security facilities, such as nets and fences, first and then carry out additional identification.
The investigation team conducted the first identification for about two hours starting at 4 p.m. the previous day, in conjunction with the National Institute for Scientific Research and the fire department, to review the site of the fire and look for traces of the fire.
The first day’s appreciation focused on preserving the site and understanding the structure of the building.
Police investigated the scene of the fire, focusing on floors 12, 28 and 33 where the fire was burning.
In addition to investigating the cause of the fire, the police form and support a victim protection team for the victims of the fire.
The protection team consisted of a crisis intervention counselor and a dedicated police officer for victims.
Consultation desks were set up in temporary shelters with 190 residents and it is planned to provide information on victim support systems and the distribution of relief supplies.
In addition, visit the hospital where the victims are and carry out psychological counseling.
The police also established a cooperation system to protect and support victims in relation to local governments and the Korean Red Cross.
Earlier in the evening of the 8th, a major fire broke out at Samhwan Art Nouveau’s commercial-residential apartment in Dal-dong, Nam-gu.
The fire went out on the ninth day after 15 hours and 40 minutes.
In the fire, 93 people suffered minor injuries, such as inhaling smoke, and 77 people were rescued who had been evacuated on the rooftop and other evacuation floors.
