The prosecution took over the 21 general elections in Seoul, Gwangjin-eul district, accused of violating the Public Officials Election Law, along with a Democratic Party legislator, Goin Jeong Jeong.
The indictment of candidate Oh Se-hoon, accused of the same charge, was suspended.
The reason for the disposition was not disclosed.
According to the indictment on the 7th, the 6th Division of the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutor’s Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Nam-hoon) decided to get rid of the late lawmaker accused of violating the Public Office Election Law on the 6th without charge. The relevant resident self-governance committee is known to have revealed that it has never made a comment on the post.
The Electoral Countermeasures Committee of the Future Integration Party informed the Electoral Commission, and on April 14, the day before the general elections, the Gwangjin-gu Electoral Commission requested an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office on the grounds of that there was a possible violation of the Elections Law for public office.
The Dongbu District Prosecutor’s Office imposed a “ deferral of prosecution ” against former Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, accused of violating the Public Officials Election Law.
Indictment is a provision when the prosecutor decides that the suspect is suspected of a crime but is not serious enough to deliver him to trial.
In March, the Gwangjin-gu Election Commission filed a complaint with the Dongbu District Prosecutor’s Office on charges of offering money to voters.
