Gwanghwamun Square was the place where the quarantine authorities and the police were most concerned. How was the situation today?

It was the organization that hosted the city rally on the last Liberation Day.

The Emergency Response Committee on August 15 held a press conference in front of Exit 1 of Gwanghwamun Station around 1:30 pm.

Today, only a small number of 9 or fewer people came together and condemned the government’s quarantine policy.

The police, who had decided to control the unauthorized meeting, were watching whether the press conference would lead to a large staff meeting.

Fortunately, it ended without a major accident.

However, dozens of members of the conservative group tried to enter Gwanghwamun Square and held protests and confronted the police.

The vehicle demonstrations were carried out within the limits allowed by the court.

The vehicle demonstrations continued without separate press conferences at the home of Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and around Gangdong-gu, where a vehicle demonstration was held by a conservative group.

Were the police on alert?

Yes, there are 187 companies and 14,000 police officers who mobilized for today’s National Foundation Day demonstration.

The Gwanghwamun area is still teeming with police forces and vehicles.

Four of the six lanes were controlled.

Sidewalks have installed barriers everywhere so that traffic can only pass in one row.

The police have established and controlled checkpoints at 90 entrances to the center to prevent accidental demonstrations and protests, especially in central Seoul.

As a result of the control, a round-trip measure was imposed on about 30 vehicles trying to enter the city center.

Police said they found demonstration items such as flags, posters and brochures in the car and classified them as participants in the rally.

Have the ongoing measures taken at the subway stations around Gwanghwamun not been resolved yet?

The uninterrupted passage measures that were put in four subway stations near Gwanghwamun Station in Seoul, such as Gwanghwamun Station in Seoul, were lifted at 5 p.m. just before.

There were 4 places where history was closed due to nonstop passage: Gwanghwamun Station on Seoul Subway Line 5, City Hall Station on Lines 1 and 2, and Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3.
