The number of shots from 407 to 27 has more than doubled in one day.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that in explanatory data on the temporary suspension of the national influenza vaccination project, the number of vaccines obtained from the government was 873 reported in 14 regions as of day 28.

By region, Jeonbuk is the largest with 279 cases, followed by Gyeongbuk 126 cases, Incheon 86 cases, Busan 83 cases, and Chungnam 74 cases.

There were 70 cases in Seoul, 51 cases in Sejong, 49 cases in Gyeonggi, 31 cases in Jeonnam and 10 cases in Gyeongnam, and 8 cases in Jeju, 3 cases in Daejeon, 2 cases in Daegu, and 1 case in Chungbuk.

As investigations continue, the area and number of people vaccinated is expected to increase further.

On the 21st, the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that Shinsung Pharmaceutical, a nationally procured supply provider, did not adhere to the principle of “ refrigerated distribution, ” such as opening the door of a refrigerated car or leaving the product on the floor in the vaccine delivery process. The vaccination business has been temporarily suspended.

A total of 5.78 million vaccines were discontinued due to exposure to room temperature.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) held a special vaccination committee to discuss the progress of the national suspension of influenza vaccination and future countermeasures, but the meeting itself was kept private and the results were not explained.

At a Jeonju hospital, the doctor who received the vaccine was not the source of government contracting for the 8-month-old boy who was vaccinated against the flu and admitted to the intensive care unit.

The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said the hospitalized child’s weakening symptoms of lower extremity muscles are improving compared to the time of admission, but it is a condition that requires follow-up observation in the future, and that an epidemiological investigation is underway on the condition and the cause.
