A new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) related to the Kia Motors factory in Sohari in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do occurred and the factory was closed.

According to Gwangmyeong-si and Yongin-si on the 17th, four people were confirmed, including A, a man in his 40s and his wife, and two teenage sons, an employee at the Sohari plant in Yongin the day before. Later, in the process of examining 134 close contacts, including A’s co-workers, seven additional employees were confirmed to be infected.

In addition, a male employee in his 40s who participated as a judge in the National Skills Competition held in Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do on 14, was confirmed. Twelve people were confirmed, including nine new employees and three relatives. Kia Motors closed the Sohari plant just after the confirmed case came out.

The first confirmed person, A, showed symptoms such as muscle pain and body aches after visiting the condolences of a colleague in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul on the 12th. A Kia Motors official said: “We plan to decide when to restart after observing the results of the epidemiological investigation from quarantine authorities.” In Iksan, small-scale group infections are spreading through marriage counseling centers.

According to Jeonbuk province, four new people related to the Iksan marriage counseling center were confirmed.
