Cho Su-jin, Congressman of the People’s Force
“Because I’m busy” … “I had 21 days of time” he refuted
On the 7th, Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong-min pointed out to Representative Cho Su-jin, who was suspicious of the false property reports, and said, “I want to borrow 500 million won. It seems I am lending them to myself. I forget well. ”
Representative Kim said via his social networking service (SNS) that day, “Representative Cho’s explanation is that he made a mistake because he was too busy and too busy,” and urged him to apologize for clearing up the distortion and working on research with sincerity.
This is a criticism of Cho’s clarification as a “simple mistake,” who omitted a property report worth 1.1 billion won before the April 15 general election.
Representative Cho reported that he owned 1.85 billion won (as of December 31, 2019) when he registered as a candidate for the 21 general elections in April. However, according to the details of the property report released on the 28th of last month, it was revealed that Cho’s property was 3 billion won as of May 30. In just five months, cash equivalents increased by about 1.15 billion won.
Representative Cho explained that it was a mistake due to his busy schedule just before the general election.
However, Congressman Kim argued, “Everyone is pointing out that it is difficult to see that the omission of 1.1 billion won in cash is a mistake, but the excuse for not having time is also a distortion of the facts.” It was said that there was time to prepare the property report for at least 21 days, and at that time, Representative Cho was not even a party spokesperson.
Rep. Kim said, “It is true that Rep. Jo resigned on March 5 and applied for the nomination on March 9, but the ownership report documents were presented to the election committee on March 26 and 27.” “There was a time of 21 days from March 26 to March 26,” he said.
He then argued: “Representative Cho (the then candidate) was appointed as the party’s main spokesperson on March 31, after the date of the ownership report, and it was an excuse that he made a mistake because he was busy as a spokesman.”
According to the Public Officials Election Law, if a candidate makes a false property report, he will be punished with imprisonment of up to 5 years or a fine of up to 30 million won. Furthermore, if a fine of 1 million won or more is confirmed for violating the electoral law, the election of the member of the National Assembly will be invalidated. The Central Electoral Commission is verifying the facts in this regard.
