A 70-year-old man living in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, who visited Seoul St. Mary Hospital for regular check-ups, was diagnosed with Corona 19 at a screening clinic in Seocho-gu and was hospitalized at Gangneung Medical Center on Day 4. It is known that Mr. A did not attend the Seoul rally in August and is drawing attention to the source of infection.
Mr. A, in his 70s, who resides in Jungang-dong, Gangneung, visited Seoul by express bus at Gangneung Express Bus Terminal on day 3, received an examination at the St. Mary Hospital screening clinic in Seoul the same day and returned directly to Gangneung by bus. Then on day 4, the next day, he was informed of the positive test for Corona 19.
According to the release of traffic lines published by Gangneung City, Mr. A is said to have returned to Gangneung immediately after being examined at the Seoul St. Mary Hospital screening clinic immediately upon his arrival in Seoul.
This is because Mr. A, who usually suffers from an underlying illness, visited St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul for regular check-ups. That day, it was confirmed that A had received the Corona 19 test as recommended by the hospital during treatment.
Quarantine authorities are awaiting the results after completing tests with Mr. A’s wife and three contacts. Gangneung City explained that there is an active monitor in the case of a restaurant in Gyo-dong that Mr. A visited on the 31st of last month.
Most worrying about quarantine authorities is Mr. A’s source of infection. A is known to have failed to visit the Gwanghwamun rally in Seoul last month. Gangneung City said that if it is difficult to estimate the source of infection, it will reveal the results of the epidemiological investigation as soon as they are available.
